Antwerp is a tram city: from Centraal to Eilandje, het Zuid or Linkeroever the tram or premetro gets you there fast. With a folding bike you combine that with the last stretch through town, without leaving your bike behind.
Bus and tram (De Lijn)
On De Lijn buses and trams your folding bike travels free, as long as you fold it completely before boarding and keep it folded for the whole ride. Folded, a STRIDA measures approx. 113–115 × 51 × 23 cm.
By train (SNCB)
A folded folding bike travels free as accompanied luggage: fold it before boarding and keep it folded during the journey. A regular bike needs a Bike Supplement ticket.

Bike allowance and your employer
Employers may pay a bicycle allowance of up to €0.37 per kilometre cycled, tax-free up to €3,700 a year (2026). In sectors without their own agreement, at least €0.27 per kilometre is compulsory. A company or lease bike from your employer that you use for commuting is exempt from benefit-in-kind tax. More from the FPS Finance.

Maintenance in Antwerp
A STRIDA needs little maintenance: no chain to oil and a belt that lasts. Cobbles and tram rails are tough on tyres: on a STRIDA you replace one without taking the wheel out of the frame. With our manuals you do most jobs yourself, and every part is in stock, for older models too; we deliver all over Belgium. Prefer a bike shop in Antwerp? We are happy to help them with advice and parts.
A STRIDA needs little maintenance: no chain to oil and a belt that lasts a long time. And what does need doing, you can mostly do yourself: the wheels are mounted on one side only, so you change a tyre without taking the wheel out of the frame, and our manuals guide you step by step.
